The Aftermath of Super Typhoon Yolanda: Filipino struggles, sufferings, hunger, recovery and unity.

Month ago since Super Typhoon Yolanda (international name Haiyan) landed to the Philippines on Nov 8, 2013, lot of stories from different walks of life was heard, different political views, government executives blaming each other unmindful that the victims of the super Typhoon were suffering from hunger, anxiety, depression, no shelter no electricity.

I don't like to tell what I saw during my emergency visit but my conscience told me to do so.  It is another sad experience that I have to take note.

Due to communication failure with my parents, siblings, relatives and friends in Samar and Leyte I decided to go home in our province together with my fraternal brother Maj Dominador QJ Queroljico who also raised in Samar.

My eagerness to see what's happening with my family there, brings us to a more saddened stories of our kababayan in Samar & Leyte. Hope to share some story I saw along the way.

Buy some goods was our first itinerary with the assistance of our bro. Col. Peter Limbauan who also raised in Samar.

While on our way thither, we met these few good men from Naga City where they share their blessing and filled our vehicle with overflowing relief goods intended for the distressed people affected by Yolanda. Mabuhay po kayo Brethren of Naga Lodge 257.

We also met this group of men and women which was
mobilized immediately 3 days after typhoon which was
composed of Rescue Team from different Metro Manila
Rescue Team.

We traveled in a rough and rugged road before we reach our destination. We turned over all of our relief goods in Catbalogan Samar. The brethren of Mt. Huraw Lodge 98 is our focal point and they are the one who will distribute the donations the brethren will be sending on.

With the support of the first ladies of the Mt Huraw 98, the repacking of relief goods was done smoothly.

After the labor comes the refreshment and fellowship. I was so tired, hasn't take a nap with our entire trip and labors.
A day after we take our route to affected areas in Samar & Leyte. We saw the devastated municipalities and villages. People we're like zombies walking everywhere even in the midnight time, no electricity, even the stars and the Moon cover themselves with the cloud above. We tried to picked up some children and mothers with their babies walking without destinations looking for food and water to fill their stomach. We shared some food that left in our stocks.

The next day we traveled toward the North part of Samar and start searching for our beloved family. We thank our Lord God Almighty for sparing the the lives of our family members.

We continue our search for friends and brothers. I have some friends and former classmates who among the casualties of the unfortunate event. We have the lists of names requested by friends and brethren for us to locate the whereabouts and status of their relatives in the affected areas. We traced the others and the others were not and the others were among the casualties. We are sorry for the friends and brethren for the bad news we bring and we would like to extend our sympathy on your lost. May they rest in peace..
